Artist Submission of the Week: Perk Pietrek

Into the new generation of DJs and Producers, not everyone can stand out while being good at both, but Perk Pietrek had done just that over the past few years in the business. To start off, he claimed the unique belt of being a 6 times DJ battle champion as well as the Singapore’s DMC vice champion by the age of 16, the youngest achiever in Singapore’s history to date.

Fast forward to the present, Perk Pietrek’s short stint with BubbleHeads (Tropical Bass Duo) saw them released and remixed for labels like Caballito, Chateau Bruyant alongside features on Mad Decent, TropicalBass, Generation Bass and more. Moving on to his solo works that covers heavier hitting beats, he has been producing music for renown record labels like Top Billin’ (MTAWT), Sweat It Out & Strangers In Paradise.

2013 have seen Perk Pietrek released his solo debut EP titled WYWF which was reviewed by Poached Magazine as a “Tropical Bass Wunderkind”, headlined Fast Track Music Carnival (Singapore) together with electronic music’s renown acts like Sidney Samson, Bassjackers, Angger Dimas and showcased with the 2012 DMC World Champion, DJ Izoh. His year end “Bar Invasion Tour” with Fresh Bloc Records saw him featured on local tastemaker magazines like Juice, Actually, Urbanwire & more.

As versatile as he gets, doing music showcases, raving with live sets or producing and remixing records, Perk Pietrek is a young individual with an extraordinary vision.
