Since Shift K3Y’s explosive 2014 debut single ‘Touch,’ a #3 charting single on the UK pop charts, the 21-year-old multitalented performer, DJ, producer, vocalist, and instrumentalist has had a whirlwind trajectory into the electronic, pop, and R&B music stratosphere. Once he took to the decks himself, Skrillex and Diplo were early supporters, the former taking him on the ‘Takeover’ tour around the US. With over 200K records sold with ‘Touch’ alone, Shift has established himself as a go-to hitmaker remixing the likes of Tinie TempahTove Lo and Iggy Azalea. Identifying Shift’s status as a classically trained musician, with a soulful and vast knowledge beyond his years, has already brought him into the studio with icons like Chaka Khan, DJ Mustard, and Robin Thicke who will be featured on his forthcoming debut LP. Of meeting the funk queen Khan in LA to record his song “Gone Missing,” he says: “It was the most intensely amazing experience of my life.”

Before we get a listen to his star-studded album, Shift K3Y has released a one-off single featuring his own vocals and producation that Insomniac describes as “dripping-hot, sweat-inducing,”- “Name & Number.” The single has already dominated the club scene charting at #6 on the UK dance charts. Idolator describes the track as “sparkling uptempo with slinky vocals and thumping bass that will have your feet moving on the dancefloor.” He’s not done there. He has now enlisted a group of his most talented (and buzzworthy) friends including Wax Motif, Chloe Martini, Cause & Affect, Mike Mago, and Kideko to throw a new twist onto his dancefloor anthem. We also will hear Shift remix his own work on the EP upon the EP’s release May 19th via Ultra Records.
