The Cut: More meat, Less Fat

The Cut: More meat, Less Fat
The Cut: More meat, Less Fat

There are many tracks out there that are hidden by the fat of less delicious tracks. As a part-time butcher of music discovery(and meat in real life), I will cut out the fat and show you the freshest cuts of meat (tracks) in this new segment we call “The Cut”. We will feature all kinds of cuts ranging from Bass, House, and downtempo vibes.

Steve Aoki collaborates with heavyweights DVBBS and 2Chainz on a massive festival ready track. Hard hitting Basslines and vocals from 2Chainz gives this track that extra agressiveness we all love in EDM.

Dirty Audio links with Jupe to give us this Trap tune with elements of Dubstep synths. Definitely a pump you up track.

Tuxedo is one of those disco vibe duo’s that features Mayer Hawthorne. This remix gives you those classic House vibes and is a must in any collection. Add this to your spotify playlist.

This track has elements of house music along with club rhythms and chopped vocal samples that make this song captivating on the dancefloor.

Damn, can Crookers do no wrong? This Crookers remix is the prime rib of meats right now. Techno and House vibes that even feature Phra’s chopped vocals.

Their has been tons of new music coming out this month and here are some of my personal picks that deserve attention. Check out these tracks that range from House music to some Bass Trap tunes. There is something for everyone in this list. So make sure to find your favorite tune and download it.

These Smooth Vibes give a fresh take on the classic “Get Jiggy With it” tune by Will Smith. Mark Pompeo gives us all the groove and deep synths we need all in one track.

Never heard of Dom Dias, but the Shifty Rhythms are close friends here at Salacious, so we made sure to check this track out. The bouncing bass and bmore percussions make this a party friendly that works well in any DJ’s set.

Saint is one of those talented dudes that just knows how to bring that heavy bass with every track and remix. This Bootleg is even more aggressive then the original.

Let’s mellow it a back with this house track. Smooth beat and nice chopped up vocals. It’s a great track to download and play it at the warehouse or pool party.

The old school house vibe with heavy synths make this the future of house right now. Looking back to lead the future of house music.

This track has all the amazing synths and has a very arabic melody that is so left field that it works well.

There’s not many Trap tracks that catch my attention these days, but this one was so well done. It gave a bit of melody, heavy bass, and smooth percussions.

The Dutch know how to give you the best of electronic music. This track has everything in one song. Jungle Terror, House, Ragga, Dub, and all that good stuff. Keep an eye out for the native Dutch Master DJ Punish making waves with his music.

RÜFÜS DU SOL Return With New Single ‘You Were Right’

After spending the latter part of 2014 writing new music from a Berlin base, RÜFÜS DU SOL returned to Sydney at the start of 2015 to finish music for their 2nd album. ‘You Were Right’ is the first song they wrote after returning home. Its completion marked a turning point in the writing process for the follow up to the 2013 breakout album ATLAS. A story of unrequited longing for someone, ‘You Were Right’ is an undeniably perfect blend of Berlin’s chilling winter with the sun kissed euphoria of Sydney in the Summertime.
Vocalist Tyrone explains: “We got home after being away for 5 months, we’d spent the last part of that locked up in this special little apartment in Friedrichshain that we turned into our studio. But, it was so cold that we were rarely leaving the apartment…. so coming home to summer in Sydney, being surrounded by the familiarity of everything that being home entails, we were suddenly approaching songwriting in a different way, both technically and emotionally. We were able to unlock a different side to our writing.”

‘You Were Right’ follows the group’s massively successful ATLAS LP. The album was certified gold, and quickly propelled RÜFÜS DU SOL into the spotlight and onto international stages. After amassing a slew of awards and nominations for the album, and having two of their songs named ‘Essential New Tunes’ by Pete Tong on his BBC Radio One show, RÜFÜS DU SOL departed for over a year of touring the world, including a series of headlining North American dates.

Now making their triumphant return, the trio has emerged from the studio with a full album’s worth of material to share. ‘You Were Right’ is the lead single from the yet-to-be-named sophomore album from RÜFÜS DU SOL, and is out now.

Coinciding with the release of this seminal summertime tune, RÜFÜS DU SOL has announced a full run of North American Summer festival dates, including stops at Camp Bisco, Northern Nights, Woogie Weekend, 1UP Colfax in Denver, Gas Monkey in Dallas, and Full Moon Festival in New York.
