HAVOC presents CROOKERS tonight at The Yost Theater

White Rabbit Group is hosting their weekly Havoc Thursday event this week (June 5th) at the Yost Theater in Santa Ana, CA.  However, this week’s lineup is extremely special because a legendary headliner is coming to the Yost Theater. Crookers aka Phra (Francesco Barbaglia) is going to grace us with his presence with a killer set full of bass-heavy, electro house beats.  However, the opening sets for this Thursday shouldn’t be forgotten and are on point for this event.  Mikey Made is the first opening set who is a very dedicated DJ/producer and has a niche for house music, but also incorporating Tech and Deep House into his sound.  DJ Precept (Alex Castro) is a resident DJ for White Rabbit Group and has performed at the Yost Theater numerous times.  He has opened for many popular music producers in the EDM scene, such as Deorro, Zomboy, Chuckie, Congo Rock, Crizzly, Borgore, Designer Drugs, Le Castle Vania, Nero, Proxy, Skrillex, and more.  Precept brings the high energy and heavy bass, massive bangers, and a variety of popular tracks/remixes, as well as his own, to start the party right.  BONES (Trevor Moffitt) has been around for quite awhile in the EDM scene.  He is a co-owner of Gotta Dance Dirty (EDM blog with many features) and he is signed to Dim Mak Records.  BONES is also a resident DJ at Dim Mak Studios in Hollywood and at Avalon Hollywood.  BONES has also performed at the Yost Theater and he and Precept both have experience performing at massive EDM festivals, such as Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas.  Therefore, Precept and BONES are going to cause havoc performing together, back to back, as the main opening set for Crookers.  Crookers is an Italian electronic music producer that got involved with music at a very young age and eventually he and former member Bot (Andrea Fratangelo) joined together in 2003 as the iconic duo Crookers and left more than a mark on an era.  If you were into electro house, electronica, dance, or even any EDM that features clicks, whistles, spurs, synths in the mid to late 2000’s, you know who Crookers is.  Crookers has released numerous original mixes and remixes on many famous record labels, such as Ciao Recs, LuckyBeard Records, Mad Decent, Man Rec, Fools Gold, Universal, OWSLA, and Ministry Of Sound.  The list of original tracks is extensive, but some classic Crookers sound is heard in tracks such as  “My Penny” (2008), “Knobbers” (2008), “Bust Em’ Up” feat. Savage Skulls (2011), and “Love to Edit” (2008).  Crookers also produced many well-known remixes, such as “Fancy Footwork” (Crookers Remix) by Chromeo (2007), “We are Prostitutes” (Crookers Remix) by Adam Sky vs. Mark Stewart (2006), “The Cat” (Crookers Remix) by Dusty Kid (2006), “The Salmon Dance” (Crookers ‘Wow’ Remix) by The Chemical Brothers (2007).  However, in 2008 one of their biggest remixes Crookers produced was Day ‘N’ Nite by Kid Cudi, which was literally heard at every festival set, club, radio station, and etc. for the next year.  After almost ten years of Crookers featuring two people, Bot and Phra split up peacefully in 2012.  Bot had decided to move on in his career, but Phra decided to continue to carry on the Crookers name and keep producing.

Recently, Phra has individually broken through with some original tracks, such as “Able to Maximize,” “Ghetto Guetta,” and “Heavy” (2014), as well as some original remixes, such as “Ode to Oi” (Crookers Remix) by TJR (2013).  Although time has passed, Phra stays true to the unique sound that Crookers revolutionized.  Crookers is going to be a little taste of the past and the present and it is going to be a hell of a show, especially at such a predominantly popular venue as the Yost Theater.

Come get WILD with us at Exchange LA this Friday with Tommy Trash + Felix Cartal + Bones and La Muerte

01_17_TommyTrash_600x800Insomniac events is putting on another one of their Awaking Fridays events at the very popular nightclub, Exchange, in downtown Los Angeles, CA.  The event is this Friday (January 17th) with very predominant music producers, BONES (Trevor Moffitt) back to back with La Muerte (Dominic Saldana) and Felix Cartal (Taelor Deitcher) and, headliner, Tommy Trash (Thomas Olsen).  Exchange opened about two years ago after the historic building was renovated and modernized into a vibrant, appealing club setting.  The venue has hosted many club events with many EDM producers, such as Sander van Doorn, Krewella, Cedric Gervais, Ferry Corsten, Adventure Club, Armin van Buuren, Mat Zo, and the list goes on and on.  Therefore, we know that this club is high end in making the atmosphere a masterpiece.

BONES (Trevor Moffitt) has been around for quite awhile in the EDM scene.  He is a co-owner of Gotta Dance Dirty (an EDM blog with many features) and he is signed to Dim Mak Records,  which was started by, music producer, Steve Aoki in 1996.  BONES is also a resident DJ at Dim Make Studios in Hollywood.  BONES has played at other venues, such as the Yost Theater (Santa Ana, CA) and at Avalon Hollywood, where he also serves as a resident DJ.  He has played at other massive EDM events like Beyond Wonderland (Bay Area), EDC (Las Vegas and New York), and Hard Summer (LA).  La Muerte (Dominic Saldana) is a multi-tasker it seems because not only is he a manager of Exchange LA, but he is also a resident DJ at the club.  He is from the Los Angeles area and knows the city and what the people want because of his experience already playing at the progressively successful venue.  He has opened club events for EDM music producers, like Fedde Le Grand,  Claude Vonstroke, Carnage, 3LAU, and more.   BONES and La Muerte are working alongside B2B this Friday to open the event and rev up the entering crowd with some funky beats and compelling mixes.

As Exchange LA’s website states, Felix Cartal (Taelor Deitcher), is the special guest of the upcoming evening.  Felix Cartal, a Canadian music producer, has been in the EDM scene since 2007, was signed to Dim Mak Records in 2009, and has been thriving ever since.  He has toured with EDM producers, MSTRKRFT, Wolfgang Gartner, and Bloody Beetroots as well.  Felix Cartal is predominantly an electronica DJ, who has many original tracks, such as “Domo” and “Katsu,” and he also likes to add vocals into his music.  Some of his original tracks that carry the beautiful vocals are “After Dark” ft. Koko LaRoo, “Lullaby” ft. Natalie Angiulli, “From Black to White” ft. Miss Palmer, “Tonight” ft. Maja Ivarsson (from the Sounds), and the most recent, “New Scene” ft. Ofelia.  Many other EDM producers have noticed these tracks and have honorably wanted to remix them to add their own sound to it and further musical variety, which EDM offers so much of.  Felix Cartal has remixed many popular tracks as well, from Britney Spears (“I Wanna Go”), Steve Aoki & Tiesto (“Tornado”), Chris Brown & Benny Benassi (“Beautiful People”), and to The Killers (“Miss Atomic Bomb”).  He also produces his “Weekend Workout” mixes every week on Soundcloud.com that prove he really knows how to put together a strong compilation of tracks that make anyone want to move.

Tommy Trash  (Thomas Olsen) is an Australian DJ that has proven himself in the EDM industry.  Tommy Trash was nominated last year for a Grammy award  for best remixed recording, which was Deadmau5’s (Joel Zimmerman)  “The Veldt.”  Tommy Trash and Sebastian Ingrosso’s collaboration on their track “Reload” and Tommy Trash’s version of The Aston Shuffle’s “Sunrise (Won’t Get Lost)” have both been at #1 on Beatport.  Tommy Trash has released many of his tracks on numerous labels, but is signed to an Australian record label, the Ministry of Sound Australia.  Even Rolling Stone and MTV have recognized him for his talent as “one to watch.”  He is also the resident DJ at the new Hakkasan nightclub at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.  He is primarily an Electro House DJ, but is also diverse in genre within his music.  Tommy Trash could be seen anywhere within a crowd because of his distinctive head banging with his long hair that you just can’t miss.  Overall Tommy Trash has been one of the most successful EDM producers in the last year and his performance and mesmerizing beats are not something you want to miss.  The opening DJs, Bones and La Muerte, special guest, Felix Cartal, and the very admired Tommy Trash are going to put on a hell of a show in downtown LA this week and you do not want to miss out.
