Let’s Get Tropical: #TRAPICAL

Lets get Tropical Image post copy

I Just Scoured Soundcloud’s Barnacly Underbelly To Bring You This Week’s Most Tropical Trap Available.  Read On, & Find Out What It Is To Sound #TRAPICAL.

Just because it’s got a resort on it…Doesn’t mean there’s not a bumpin’ underground music scene.  This week on Let’s Get Tropical, we blow the lid right off that resort, and get #TRAPICAL.  Some good, hard tropical beats to get you through the week, right here, from the gentlest to the dirtiest, all in one go.  Week after week, I’m just gonna keep on dropping names, styles, and labels you’ve never heard of…but should have!  I’m extra happy with this week’s finds.  Even the tropical Country/Western Trap (WTF).

Let’s Get Tropical: The Tropical Future

Tropical Future

Today on Let’s Get Tropical we feature a brand new EP from Slick Shoota, and fresh Future Bass E.P. from Jamal Rusk.

Tropical Future is the theme of the day, and Slick Shoota do a great job creating a dark thrill ride through a futuristic urban jungle on their new E.P. Keep Bussin’.  The soundscape crosses lines between Hard House, Drum N’ Bass, Zouk, Juke, and even hints at a bit of Jazz Swing on the introduction to Kik.  While exploring new sounds, Slick Shoota keeps to the point, and gives the listener more of what they came for, that classic Slck Shoota sound.  This is great music.

Jamal Rusk is back, and going hard on his latest E.P. King. The beat structures are complex, thoughtful, and deep.  The songs are aggressive and well executed.  The Tropical Sizzle is definitely there.  These songs are hot like the Equator.  Trapped out, Dubbed out, Drum And Bass’d out, Distorted and progressive, this album is a Future-fied sizzler.

That’s it for this week!

If you have something Tropical you’d like to see posted on the blog, send a message to misterluke@arntrela.com, and I’ll get back to you A.S.A.P.
