Sweater Beats and Hoodboi Team Up For Official Galantis Remix

Following standout performances at Firefly Festival and Hard Summer, Sweater Beats has teamed up with Hoodboi (Fool’s Gold/Athletixx) to deliver a massive official remix for Swedish electronic music duo Galantis

Taking on the group’s lead single ‘Runaway’, Sweater Beats and Hoodboi reform the instrumental and breathe new life into the track’s catchiest line, “I want to runaway…”, to create an epic sing-a-long anthem befitting any festival stage.

HOODBOI SHARES “PALM READER” FEAT. LIDO, ANNOUNCES FOOL’S GOLD EP OUT 3/24 + SXSW SHOWCASES

Los Angeles is home to some of the most innovative young club producers in the nation, and Hoodboi may be the most exciting of the bunch. Whether solo or collabing with like-minded DJs in his Athletixx crew, Hoodboi’s energetic, emotional tunes feel equally at home in a Jersey basement or a Zelda bonus level. It’s an all-in approach to electronic music that will warm your emoji heart.
Palm Reader (out 3/24 on Fool’s Gold) is Hoodboi’s debut EP of original music, a bold leap forward from the R&B bootlegs and party tracks he cut his teeth on. The four tracks are physical and lush; raw club OOMPH sprayed with a candy gloss. From soaring, new-age opener “Dusk” to the hypercolor title track featuring Lido, Hoodboi is making 1080p dance records like none other.
Hoodboi hits SXSW for the Fool’s Gold Showcase Friday3/20 at Gypsy Lounge and the Athetixx Showcase Saturday3/21 at V Lounge, his last stateside shows before joining Flosstradamus on their sold-out tour of Australia and New Zealand from 3/27 – 4/6.

The Jersey Club Phenomenon

Newark, New Jersey is the hub of the rich dance culture known as Jersey Club. Drawing from the genre’s roots in Baltimore Club and hip-hop, Jersey godfathers DJ Tameil, DJ Tim Dolla and Mike V’s label Brick Bandits helped pave the way for artists like Nadus, DJ Sliink, Uniiqu3, Brenmar, Trippy Turtle, Hoodboi and more to bring the sound to bigger crowds and venues throughout the past few years.

THUMP went over to Jersey to trace the beginnings of the genre and its impact on dance music in today’s scene. Check out the preview above.
